Another year almost done and dusted! We hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and is looking forward to their New Years celebrations. The Sunshine Coast had a wonderfully wet Christmas Day - I don't think anyone has ever wanted it to rain on Christmas Day quite as much as we did this year - it really was a Christmas miracle!
The end of year is a very important time for Airbnb property owners. It's an opportunity to maximise overall earnings for the year. We saw a huge influx of visitors to the Sunny Coast during this period and our properties were between 85-95% booked for the months of December and January.
Whilst it may seem unfair to raise prices over this period, from a financial perspective it is very important to take advantage of the highest demand and lowest supply period. The Sunshine Coast is very popular summer holiday destination for Australian and International visitors. On average our properties earned 4-5 times their regular rental rate over the peak times between the 20th December to 10th January.
Most importantly our guests had a wonderful holiday experience, we accommodated earlier personal check in's and late checkouts where possible, provided Christmas goodies and ensured the properties were cleaned and presented to the highest possible standard. 5 star reviews have been given by all of our holiday visitors so far.
