What do you look for when you are purchasing anything new for the first time? You look for product reviews.. you want to know what other peoples experiences were with this product. It really doesn't matter what it is, could be a local plumbing service, an internet provider, a beauty product, or a hotel. Likewise, everyone wants to know what sort of experience previous guests have had at your property.
So how are you going to ensure that everyone leaves you a five star review?
1. Exceptional service
Provide a 6 star service to each and every guest. Make yourself available to your guests at all ties, and make sure they know that they shouldn't hesitate to get in touch with you if they have any questions or concerns. Some of the best reviews I read and likewise reviews I've left are for hosts who went the extra mile to be attentive and make their guest enjoyment a priority. Nothing is ever too hard, and it makes all the difference when a guest feels cared about and considered.
2. Understand your guest
Check their previous reviews. Was there anything they highlighted from past experiences that they felt was disappointing? Be sure to address these before they check in and ask them if they are happy with everything once you've checked them in. Leave your details should they need to get in touch if any issues should arise.
3. Small touches
Think of things that you would appreciate if you were the guest in the property. Chances are you use the internet so having a reliable and strong wifi connection is a must, herbal teas to relax at night before bed, comfy pillows and cosy blankets on the couch, quality coffee for that all important morning coffee, a detailed guest book with local favourite spots to eat. 4. Be a guest yourself
Personally I have found this to be crucial in ensuring a positive guest experience, because I've been a guest myself so many times! From properties in Tasmania, New Zealand, Croatia, Paris, Philippines and many more! Each and every stay was unique and had its own personal touches. I can't say I've ever had a bad experience! Then again I am very careful with where I stay, I only ever stay with highly rated hosts and I check the previous 5 reviews to make sure they are positive. I've picked up on more things as a guest than I ever could of by just being a host. I implore you to stay with some superheats so you can see what they do differently. As I mentioned each stay and property will be totally different but you will soon see from a guests perspective what makes for an exceptional experience.
6. Leave great reviews
Make sure you leave all of your guests a quality review. Be sure to thank them for staying at your place, anything you loved about them personally; maybe they were extra clean and considerate, maybe they communicated really well with you? Be prompt and send a message afterwards or beforehand to the guest to let them know you loved hosting them and that you'll be leaving them a five star review.
